History
One of the first manufacturers to receive recognition from us was the German company Claas. This company is one of the oldest, which is engaged in the production of agricultural machinery. It was founded in 1913. Although the range of Claas machinery is quite extensive, the most popular among us are combine harvesters. The first Claas combines that came to us belonged to the Dominator line. At that time, they were no longer a novelty abroad, but in our country they became popular due to their reliability, high harvesting rates, which domestic combines could not provide. Another factor in favor of Claas combines was the comfort of the operator's workplace.
Consider all the lines of Klaas combines supplied to us. But let's start with modern models and gradually move on to earlier models.
Lexion
Let's start with the Lexion line of combines. This line is divided into two series - Lexion 700 series and Lexion 600 series. Each of the series includes several models.
The use of an electro-hydraulic drive ensures high speed when moving the combine. At the same time, Lexion combines are equipped with the Terra Trac drive wheel system, which provides reduced ground pressure. In fact, the drive wheels of these combines are designed like a caterpillar drive, only a rubber band acts as a caterpillar. But the steered wheels remained the same - pneumatic, equipped with a pressure control system. The 700th series of Lexion combines consists of 3 models: 750, 760 and 770. Structurally, they are the same, differing from each other only in some parameters. The same series includes the 780 model - released for the 100th anniversary of this manufacturer, but this model is not officially supplied to us, although the "gray" dealers have it.
Tucano
The next modern line of Claas combines is the Tucano. Like its predecessor range, the Tucano includes two series - 580-570 and 450-320. The Tucano line belongs to the premium segment of middle-class combines. Tucano is structurally similar to Lexion, only the characteristics differ slightly less. The Tucano 580-570 series consists of two models.
Mega
The predecessor of the Lexion and Tucano lines was the Mega line, consisting of 5 models - 204, 208, 218, 350, 360 and 370. The Mega was based on the predecessor “Dominator”, but the Mega threshing system was significantly improved.
Dominator
Well, in the end - the ancestor of modern combines Claes - Dominator. These combines were fitted with a conventional threshing system prior to the APS threshing system, but with 5 straw walkers. The Dominator line was very extensive and included models of both small and middle class. There were four series of this line alone, while the total number of models belonging to the "Dominator" was 10. It is difficult to list the characteristics of all models, therefore the table contains data on the smallest model - 38 and the largest - 150.
